What I'm Reading

A couple of weeks back I wrote a post about fantasy football and its effect upon the people who play it. Some have fun with it, some are obsessed with it, some are good, others are lucky and mostly there are a ton of people playing it. I got the idea for the post from a book I was reading, Committed by Mark St. Amant. While writing the post I did a little more research on the writer St. Amant and I found he wrote another book. I enjoyed his writing, it made me laugh and I felt he was a guy I felt I could hang out with and heave a few beers.

So I decided to pick up his other book that I found out through his website. It too was about football, Just Kick It was St. Amant's venture into semi-pro football as a thirtysomething, completely inexperienced, smallish-sized kicker. While I liked his first book, this book is an absolute great read. It's a great look into semi-pro football, friends, family, life and the brotherhood that comes along with playing sports together no matter your color, creed, age or skill level. I'm only three quarters the way through the book, but I felt the need to share this book with all of my readers and guests. So if you like not your average sports story, some humor, good life stories and rooting for the underdog, pick this book up.
