Another NFL weekend in the books, this time I had a good time reviewing the Confidence Picks Challenge, but wasn't very happy in reviewing our Spread Selections for this past weekend's action. Here's a look at how we did.
Here's the picks from us here at Touchdown Dance.
Confidence Picks Challenge Selections (Week 13)
16-San Diego @ Cleveland (San Diego Wins)
15- Detroit @ Cincinnati (Cincinnati Wins)
14- Oakland @ Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh Wins)
13- New Orleans @ Washington (New Orleans Wins)
12- Denver @ Kansas City (Denver Wins)
11- San Francisco @ Seattle (Seattle Wins)
10- Houston @ Jacksonville (Jacksonville Wins)
9- Tampa Bay @ Carolina (Carolina Wins)
8- Philadelphia @ Atlanta (Philadelphia Wins)
7- St. Louis @ Chicago (Chicago Wins)
6- New England @ Miami (New England Wins)
5- Tennessee @ Indianapolis (Indianapolis Wins)
4- NY Jets @ Buffalo (Buffalo Wins)
3- Baltimore @ Green Bay (Green Bay Wins)
2- Minnesota @ Arizona (Minnesota Wins)
1- Dallas @ NY Giants (Dallas Wins)
Two weeks was definitely enough losing for us here at Touchdown Dance. We came away victorious within the Confidence Picks challenge tallying 109/136 even with the few very surprising outcomes that were involved this past weekend. Don't give up my fellow competitors as we here at Touchdown Dance are beatable any given week, but just not three in a row.
Spread Selections (Week 13)
NY Jets @ Buffalo (+3) (37) Take the Bills (+3) and the over. NY Jets- 19 Buffalo- 13 Total- 32 The close division match-up was much more defensive than I felt it would be which cost me both numbers. (0-1-0), (0-1-0)
Philadelphia @ Atlanta (+5.5) (44) Take the Eagles (-5.5) and the under. Philadelphia- 34 Atlanta- 7 Total- 41 I knew the Falcons would be worse minus Matty Ice, but who knew it would be that bad. Good for me though where I won against both numbers. (1-1-0), (1-1-0)
Tampa Bay @ Carolina (-6.5) (40) Take the Buccaneers (+6.5) and the over. Carolina- 16 Tampa Bay- 6 Total- 22 Another division battle where defense was prominent costing me both numbers once again. (1-2-0), (1-2-0)
St. Louis @ Chicago (-9) (41) Take the Rams (+9) and the over. Chicago- 17 St. Louis- 9 Total- 27 Thank goodness for bad coaching decision by Lovie Smith with his attempted fake field goal which kept me winning the spread, but the lack of Bears offense cost me the over. (2-2-0), (1-3-0)
Tennessee @ Indianapolis (-6.5) (47) Take the Titans (+6.5) and the under. Indianapolis- 27 Tennessee- 17 Total- 44 The Colts defense came to play which cost me the spread, but I did net the under. (2-3-0), (2-3-0)
Denver @ Kansas City (+4.5) (38.5) Take the Broncos (-4.5) and the under. Denver- 44 Kansas City- 13 Total- 57 Denver's back on a role, but Matt Cassell is regressing. The latter cost me the under, but the Broncos resurgence got me the spread. (3-3-0), (2-4-0)
New Orleans @ Washington (+9.5) (47) Take the Redskins (+9.5) and the under. New Orleans- 33 Washington- 30 Total- 63 The Redskins kicker cost them the game, but Jason Campbell and crew kept me in the spread. The unlikely high scoring affair made me miss again on the under. (4-3-0), (2-5-0)
Oakland @ Pittsburgh (-13.5) (37.5) Take the Steelers (-13.5) and the under. Oakland- 27 Pittsburgh- 24 Total- 51 So much for bringing hell like Steelers head man promised for all of their opponents. The loss cost me the spread and the under. (4-4-0), (2-6-0)
Houston @ Jacksonville (+1) (46.5) Take the Jaguars (+1) and the under. Jacksonville- 23 Houston- 18 Total- 41 We can always count on the Texans to net us both numbers late in the season. (5-4-0), (3-6-0)
New England @ Miami (+5) (46.5) Take the Patriots (-5) and the under. Miami- 22 New England- 21 Total- 43 Damn you Bill Belichick and your going on it again on fourth down costing me the spread, but at least I got the under. (5-5-0), (4-6-0)
Detroit @ Cincinnati (-13) (42) Take the Bengals (-13) and the over. Cincinnati- 23 Detroit- 13 Total- 36 The Bengals are winning games, but haven't covered in awhile where I lost the spread and the over. (5-6-0), (4-7-0)
San Diego @ Cleveland (+13) (43) Take the Chargers (-13) and the under. San Diego- 30 Cleveland- 23 Total- 53 The Resurgent or improving Browns offense cost me the spread and the under. (5-7-0), (4-8-0)
Dallas @ NY Giants (+2.5) (45) Take the Cowboys (-2.5) and the under. NY Giants- 31 Dallas- 24 Total- 55 The Cowboys resume their December woes which cost me both numbers. (5-8-0), (4-9-0)
San Francisco @ Seattle (+1) (41.5) Take the Seahawks (+1) and the over. Seattle- 20 San Francisco- 17 Total- 37 The inconsistent 49ers play netted me the spread, but I came up just short on the over. (6-8-0), (4-10-0)
Minnesota @ Arizona (+2.5) (49) Take the Vikings (-2.5) and the under. Arizona- 30 Minnesota- 17 Total- 47 Brett Favre fell back to Earth costing me the spread, but I narrowly escaped with a win on the under. (6-9-0), (5-10-0)
Baltimore @ Green Bay (-3) (43.5) Take the Packers (-3) and the under. Green Bay- 27 Baltimore- 14 Total- 41 Aaron Rodgers and the Packers defense ensured I ended up the weekend on a high note netting both numbers on Monday night. (7-9-0), (6-10-0)
