Touchdown Dance: Game of the Week (Week 14)

Disappointing week as far as voting goes for the "Game of the Week" With only three votes being tallied, but at least there was a clear winner. This weekend's game matching up the Denver Broncos visiting the Indianapolis Colts was voted the prime match-up. Lets get started with the breakdown.

  • Quarterback (Colts)

As far as we concerned here at Touchdown Dance there is no better quarterback in the league right now than Peyton Manning. So this game match-up was so very easy. Leading his team to an undefeated record to this point Manning is quite possibly on his way to another MVP award.

  • Running Back (Colts)

Both teams running games and backs have been playing much better as of late. The difference here being that Joseph Addai is staying healthy and on the field. Not only do the Colts need him for their running game, but he is also a intricate part of their prolific passing game.

  • Wide Receivers (Colts)

When you have a future HOF quarterback almost any receiver looks good on the other end of a pass, but the Colts also possess a Pro Bowl receiver on this high-powered offense in Reggie Wayne. In the league right now Wayne is one of the more precise receivers when it comes to route running along with having a great pair of hands. The two young receivers on the Colts making hay are Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon. If Manning can make a guy with a first name of Pierre look good he could make anyone look good.

  • Tight Ends (Colts)

Over the last few weeks teams have been really keying on taking away Dallas Clark from the Colts offense. Which has been accomplished, but he is still far and away the most dangerous player at his position to date. More like a big receiver, Clark can be found lining up in multiple formation creating match-up nightmares for all opposing defenses. While his role of catching a ton of balls has been reduced lately the attention given to Clark by opposing teams has opened up the field for the Colts offense in many other places.

  • Offensive Line (Even)

Both teams have very good lines. The Colts line is a little more veteran and has the advantage of having Manning behind them who rarely gets himself sacked. On the other side the Broncos boast one of the best left tackles in football in Ryan Clady who automatically even up this match-up with any team the Broncos face.

  • Defensive Line (Colts)

Never stout up the middle the Colts pair of defensive ends in Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis are big trouble for any team having to face them. By far the best pair of ends in the league the Colts have little trouble putting pressure on teams opposing quarterbacks.

  • Linebackers (Broncos)

The change to the 3-4 scheme has done wonders for the Broncos linebacker corps. Especially for one Elvis Dumervil who is having a career year at the right time (he'll be a free agent at year's end). Add that to young and talented (ILB) DJ Williams, 3-4 veteran Andra Davis and (OLB) Marcus Haggan brings this team a nasty it has lacked over the past few seasons.

  • Secondary (Broncos)

When you invoke the name Champ Bailey it almost automatically raises your squad to the top of the heap. With Bailey talent in coverage skills he almost single handily takes away one half of a football field. Add that to the veteran presence of safety Brian Dawkins and you get one very good secondary. Tagging along quite nicely are veteran Andre Goodman and Renaldo Hill who both are having decent seasons also.

  • Final Score

Indianapolis- 24 Denver- 18
