Final Phantasy: Week 15 Round-Up

Another week another split. In my haste last week I mislead the readers here that the playoffs were only two rounds in the ESPN league which is untrue. The format is a 2 week battle for both the Winner's and Consolation brackets. So the schedule I left on last week's post was wrong and there has been a change on who will battle for the championship within the ESPN league. So the scores I'll post will be the cumulative scores for both weeks of the 1st round of the playoffs. The Yahoo league's format is a straight regular season with the team with the overall best record being crowned champion and if there is a tie it will go to the best record plus highest point total.

Here's how both leagues turned out after Week 15.

• ESPN (Week 15)

Nick Bruiser- 245 Team Chenette- 156

The highest scoring team (Team Bruiser) ditched their just above .500 record to get into the championship match-up. On the arm of Aaron Rodgers (37) and the hands of Dallas Clark (21), Team Bruiser easily slid into the big game. It was just the opposite for Team Chenette who finished with the best regular season record, but came up short and this week received little help from Vernon Davis (4) or Santonio Holmes with (7) points.

Northside Knuckleheads- 190 I'm Butt Headed- 188

In the narrowest of margins the Knuckleheads go into the championship match-up with the help of Peyton Manning (26) and DeSean Jackson with (20) points. Team Butt Headed oh so close, but came up short with bad production from Jason Witten and Sidney Rice who both only scored (4) points each.

Dirty Sanchez- 161 Gator Bait- 156

Team Sanchez got by on the leg last night of Lawrence Tynes who had a big game thanks to the Giants offense. The team also received big numbers from Joe Flacco (25) and late season pick-up Chris Chambers with (17) points. Team Bait had the lead going into Monday Night Football, but came up short which can be directly pointed at Sunday Night Football participants Percy Harvin (1) and Visanthe Shiancoe with (2) points.

Bama Pride- 213 L Street Lunatics- 146

Team Pride got by easily this week and the two game match-up. This week they were propelled by Andre Johnson (19) and Derrick Mason with (14) points. My bloddy L Street Lunatics lost another disappointing game where two Jeremy's in his starting line up Jeremy Maclin and Jeremy Shockey didn't make it to the field due to injury.

Psychopathic Eagles- 160 Chicago PackerKillerz- 125

In the most embarrassing match-up even only being in the consolation bracket had the Eagles coming out on top despite having both Chris Cooley and Clinton Portis in the starting line-up. Both of those Redskins are on the IR. The Team was lead to victory be Maurice Jones-Drew (26) and the Giants D/ST with (21) points. The PackerKillerz miserable season is almost over and assured themselves one of the two bottom spots in the league with the loss where Greg Olsen (0) and Michael Crabtree (2) were little to no help at all.

• ESPN League (Playoff Match-Up Week 16 & 17)

• Yahoo League (Week 15)

I'm Number 6- 136.92 Dirty Sanchez- 81.22

Team #6 (11-4) went on to win their 7th straight and the overall league lead by two games with two games to go. This week the team was lead by two Packers with Aaron Rodgers (48.52) and Greg Jennings with (17.80) points. Team Sanchez (8-7) fell back to second in Division 1 with the loss where the team received little production from Calvin Johnson (3.50), Robert Meachem (4.30) and Thomas Jones with (5.20) points.

WonderTwinPowers- 144.18 Stuffed Dogs- 97.18

Team WTP (7-8) climbed a game back within .500 with the victory where Matt Schaub (28.38) and Jamaal Charles (28) both had big games. The Stuffed Dogs (5-10) now are tied for worst record in the league with the loss got little production from two pass catchers, Michael Crabtree (2.60) and Sidney Rice (4.90) points.

Saints- 129.02 Bowdoin Hitmen III- 95.12

The Saints (6-9) took down the streaking Hitmen where Ben Roethlisberger (49.82) topped the list as top fantasy scorer and the team also received (24.20) points from Reggie Wayne. The Hitmen (8-7) lost their 2nd of their last 3 games where the team lined up no kicker and only received (12.12) points fro Kurt Warner.

Free Plaxico- 125.72 Spartans- 86.22

Team Plaxico (9-6) added to an already impressive scoring lead league wide with a victory that got them back to the sole lead of 1st in Division 1. This week the team was lead by Maurice Jones-Drew (26), Phillip Rivers (25.32), Vincent Jackson (22.80) and Dallas Clark with (21.50) points. The Spartans (9-6) fell and may have lost all hope of a league championship where this week received bad production from Hakeem Nicks (6.50), Pierre Thomas (7) and Drew Brees with (7.32) points.

Team BB- 125.36 Three T- 46.50

Team BB (5-10) got one step closer in climbing out of the league dungeon with the victory which was lead by DeSean Jackson (25.90) and Joe Flacco with (23.86) points. Team Three T's (7-8) late season collapse continues with another loss where the team continued to have Steve Slaton (IR) in the starting line-up and received little help from Michael Turner (.70) and Wes Welker with (4.50) points.

• Week 16 (Yahoo League)

Cleveland Steamers (8-7) vs Bowdoin Hitmen III (8-7)

Stuffed Dogs (5-10) vs Saints (6-9)

I'm Number 6 (11-4) vs WonderTwinPowers (7-8)
