- Must Plays
Quarterbacks
- Kurt Warner (Arizona) Warner had a horrible game against the 49ers where nothing worked on the offense besides giving it to the opposing team. This week the Cardinals visit Detroit to play the Lions which will have the Cardinals offense back on track in now time at all. Warner should get extra snaps with the Lions more than likely starting Duante Culpepper on Sunday.
- Joe Flacco (Baltimore) The Bears are due for another blowout and the Ravens offense found a very nice rhythm last weekend against the Lions. Look for it to continue against the Bears who sound like they have quit on their coach and the remainder of the season.
- Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia) The Niners will be riding high coming into Philly this weekend, but the combo of McNabb to Jackson will prove to be too much for the improving defense. McNabb looks cool and calm and glad to have his best weapon back on the field.
Running Backs
- Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville) The Colts have done a very nice job in stopping the run as of late, but with an even more banged up defense the Jaguars will look to MJD and the offensive line to score some points and eat up the clock.
- Thomas Jones (NY Jets) Not to shabby for a running back over thirty. He's fit, trim and ready to run over some Falcon defenders. The Falcons season is just about over and the defense has regressed from the beginning of the year.
- Ray Rice (Baltimore) If you listen to Chicago sports radio you would hear the inevitable from Bears players that their season is over and it's time to pack it in. Meaning Ray Rice will add to some already impressive sophomore stats.
Wide Receivers
- Randy Moss (New England) He may or may not have quit on his team last week, but this week Moss will prove he is more grown up than earlier in his career in putting up his best game in the last month. Brady will back up his own talk and look for Moss repeatedly.
- Anquan Boldin (Arizona) Fitzgerald is a little sore and the Lions don't tackle very well. Which equals big game for the YAC master (Boldin) who will run past, over and every which way past the Lions defenders.
- Vincent Jackson (San Diego) The Chargers offense is on a roll and will continue that against the mourning Bengals. Look for Jackson on a few long ones beating an injury depleted Bengals secondary.
Tight Ends
- Brent Celek (Philadelphia) The Eagles second best receiving weapon will have plenty of opportunities over the middle against the over eager Niners defense.
- Visanthe Shiancoe (Minnesota) The Vikings offense was just OK in a last week win over the Bengals, but this week they get to play the massively injury depleted Panthers defense. The Panthers are down to 5th/6th string linebackers which will leave an open middle for Shiancoe.
- Fred Davis (Washington) Look for the 2nd year guy to have a big game against the Giants who have a horrible defense up the middle. With bad safety play and a injured middle linebacker Davis could have his biggest day as a pro.
- No Ways
Quarterbacks
- Eli Manning (NY Giants) He's been putting up good fantasy production in his past few games, but the Redskins defense is very good and doesn't give up many big plays, look for Eli to have a bad day while the Giants slide out of playoff contention.
- Jay Cutler (Chicago) As I've said earlier in this post the Bears have seemed to quit on the season. Add that to the fact the Ravens defense doesn't give up many touchdowns and Cutler's pension for throwing the interceptions equals bad fantasy day for the diabetic wonder.
- Carson Palmer (Cincinnati) He really only has one good target to throw to and when that's taken away will find himself either handing the ball off or on his duff looking up at a Chargers defender.
Running Backs
- Cedric Benson (Cincinnati) Benson has been a little slow since returning from his hip injury and this weekend the Chargers will key on stopping the league's comeback player of the year from beating them.
- Rashard Mendenhall (Pittsburgh) If the Steelers are going to win this weekend it will be upon the arm of Ben Roethlisberger, because the Packers defense will do their damndest to take away the running game from the defending champs.
- Brandon Jacobs (NY Giants) He has been running "much harder" as of late, but this week will face the toughest defense they seen in the past month. Bringing Jacobs back to his soft, tripping over his own feet ways.
Wide Receivers
- Steve Smith (Carolina) It really is too bad that Smith is stuck on such a bad offensive team, but such is the case for one of the biggest fantasy disappointment this year. Making matters even worse is even more injuries this time to the offensive line where they lost the starting RT for the season.
- Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh) More than likely Holmes will be match-up against Charles Woodson who might possibly be this year Defensive Player of the Year. Roethlisberger will look short to Ward, over the middle to Miller and deep to Wallace while Holmes is blanketed by Woodson.
- Roddy White (Atlanta) The offense was able to move last week against the Saints while at home, but this weekend while visiting the Jets ad Darrelle Revis White won't be productive much at all.
Tight Ends
- Greg Olsen (Chicago) If you haven't benched him yet than do so quickly. Another disappointment in fantasy circles Olsen will drop more balls as he gets clobbered over the middle while the Bears are in Baltimore.
- Zach Miller (Oakland) Three words, Charlie Freakin Frye. When you have that guy under center than your disappointing season is sure to continue. Miller while talented is stuck in a horrible situation with a horrible offense.
- Jeremy Shockey (New Orleans) As of late Shockey has been targeted as much and this should continue against the Cowboys who are decent up the middle, leaving most of the Saints scoring to the guys on the outside.
